The Sheppard Pratt School - Cumberland is a year round program that provides special education and other mental health services to children and adolescents (ages 5-21) with autism, behavioral challenges and delayed academic progress. Our program focuses on academic, communication, social and vocational skills.

General Summary:

• Designs, develops, and coordinates the implementation and administration of the clinical program for designated school(s)/program(s).
• Develops short and long-range goals for the clinical model and programming.
• Selects, supervises and appraises all assigned clinical staff and oversees all aspects of the clinical program.
• Provides all administrative supervision for assigned staff and coordinates provision of clinical supervision for staff as needed.
• May also provide clinical supervision or direct service if needed. Responsible for caseload assignments for clinicians and ensuring delivery of all counseling services.
• In collaboration with the Related Services Manager, and other school leaders, will participate in student admissions process including screening, interviewing and decision making for admission of prospective students.
• Actively participates in School Leadership Team meetings and endeavors.
• Takes the lead on determining the evidenced-based, clinical practices that should be utilized in the school.

Requires:

• Work requires completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, or related field of study plus appropriate Maryland State licensure (LCSW-C, LCPC, PsyD., Ph.D., Psychologist) at time of appointment and throughout time in position. Possession of Board Approved Supervisor status is strongly preferred.
• Work requires thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders, diagnoses, therapies, theory, principals and practice.
• Work requires approximately three to five years' progressively more responsible related child and adolescent work experience to organize, coordinate and direct the activities of a multi-disciplinary clinical program, acquire in-depth clinical skills, and develop strong program management skills.
